Renovations we don’t regret!
Renovating your home is exciting…but can be intimidating. Between budgets, timelines, and a million decisions, it’s easy to wonder if something will still feel “worth it” a year (or five) down the road. After wrapping up several home projects in 2025, I wanted to share the renovations we truly don’t regret…the ones that made daily life easier, added functionality, and still make us say, “Yep, so glad we did that!”
So, whether you’re planning a renovation or saving ideas for later, these are the projects that actually paid off for our family.
Remember, I share tons of Amazon deals every morning on my Facebook page, so be sure to come hang out!. Outside of the blog, you can find me on Instagram and Facebook, or visit my Amazon Storefront to shop anytime!
Daughter’s Closet Transformation

What started as a basic builder-grade closet is now a fully customizable, functional space that actually works for a growing kiddo. We installed tall, modular frames with adjustable shelving, multiple clothing rods, and glass-front drawers to keep everything visible and easy to access. Shoe shelves at the bottom and a future top shelf for seasonal storage make the most of every inch.
One of the biggest wins? The ability to design the entire closet online before ordering…seeing exactly how it would look and function made the process seamless. This upgrade not only transformed the space but also made it easier to purge, organize, and set up systems my daughter can actually maintain herself. Boys’ Bedroom Makeover

This makeover was all about personality, function, and reusing what we already loved. We started by removing old peel-and-stick wallpaper (zero wall damage, even on textured walls) and replacing it with bold, kid-approved patterns that reflect both boys’ styles. Using wallpaper panels instead of rolls made installation smoother and the patterns easier to line up.
We layered in color with fun pillows, new comforters, and favorite name blankets, while keeping existing pieces where possible. To add function, we installed customizable shelving for books and collections, plus a rotating bookshelf that’s perfect for book-fair finds and posters. The result is a shared space that feels fresh, personal, and practical…without starting from scratch. (Shop the boys bedroom HERE!)
Hall Closet Renovation

This “coat closet” just wasn’t cutting it for real family life, so we reimagined it entirely. After removing the rod, painting the interior black, and adding shelving, it became a dedicated storage and organization hub for arts and crafts, daily essentials, and kid-friendly supplies.
Stackable acrylic drawers keep everything visible and accessible, while motion-sensor lights make it easy to find what we need at a glance. The biggest unexpected benefit? It gave the kids more independence and ownership over their things. Simple changes, huge impact. Shop the closet HERE!
Arched Window Curtains

Sometimes a renovation is more about enhancement than construction…and this was one of those moments. To add curtains to a curved wall, we used connector “elbows” to create one continuous rod that bends seamlessly across the space. The result feels custom and polished without being complicated.
We finished the look with long, blackout pinch-pleat curtains that instantly elevated the room. By layering the panels strategically, the connectors stay hidden while still allowing the curtains to slide easily. Proof that something as simple as curtains can completely transform the feel of a room. (Shop my bedroom HERE!)
Not every renovation needs to be massive to make a big impact. For us, the projects we don’t regret most are the ones that improved how our home functions for everyday life…not just how it looks in photos. If you’re on the fence about a project, I hope this gives you a little clarity (and confidence) as you plan your own home updates! Remember you can shop my entire Amazon Storefront HERE.
Thank you, always, for being here! Love yall bigger than Texas!
XOXO, Katie
