Play Dates
When I was teaching full time, the thought of a play date with my boys was a dream I thought I would never realize. Most children’s play locations are open 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, which doesn’t exactly cater to a working mom’s schedule. That being said, I totally understand their hours are because most places have birthday parties in the evenings and weekends, but for a mom that just wants to watch her kids play in a city built out of play houses, it’s a total bummer.
Now that I work from home my boys and I have been able to participate in said “play dates” and I’m so thankful! We’ve made some great memories with friends on our dates. One of my favorites was when Rocker came running up to me sitting at the coloring table soaking wet! Why!? Because he had attempted to go potty alone and fell in. Was equally funny as embarrassing to see the trail of water cutting straight across the play room floor.
Some of our favorite children’s play locations in the DFW area: (in no particular order!)
- Play Street Museum (locations in Frisco, Allen, Plano, McKinney and more!)
- The Coop in downtown Frisco
- The Play Date Co. in Richardson
- Urban Air (has a toddler jump on certain days! Check your local Urban Air’s website!)
- Chick-fil-A (One of my personal favorites! Can I get a large french fry!?)
- Little Humans Big Fun (new to Frisco!)
Local parks and splash pads are also our jam if its not 150 degrees outside! Here’s a couple-
- Frisco – Hope Park and splash pad
- Allen – Celebration Park and splash pad
- Prosper – Frontier Park and splash pad
- Little Elm- Beard Park
We have personally been to all of these place and have loved them all!! If you know of a play date place that I’ve left off my lists drop a comment and share! I’m all about moms helping moms!
