Our Home Gym Glow Up
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that your home should work for you. So when our home office started feeling more like a catch-all space than a productive one, I knew it was time for a change! And let me tell you… transforming that room into our very own home gym? Total game-changer.
Whether you’re juggling work or kids, having a gym just a few steps away makes all the difference. So I’m sharing exactly how we turned our office into a stylish, practical, and motivating workout space. Isn’t she fab?! Come along and we’ll run through what we did!

We knew right off the bat that carpet and workouts don’t mix – especially when weights or cardio are involved. Below is what we started with! The room used to be our home office. Fun Fact: This accent wall was our first DIY project in this room! When we decided to make it our gym, the floor was the first thing we had to tackle.




Our first step was the floor: We ripped out the carpet and replaced it with durable rubber flooring that gives us the support and grip we need. To give it a finished look (without spending a fortune) added peel-and-stick tile right on top.
It was quick, easy, and fantastically chic. It was easy to measure, easy to size, and has been SO durable. The tile gave us the gym vibe we wanted without sacrificing style – which is always a priority in my home.
Pro Tip: Let the rubber flooring air out for a few days and pop a fan or two in there if you can…it has a strong smell at first!
Next up: the equipment. Since we weren’t working with a massive amount of space, I wanted pieces that would work hard without taking up space. Enter: the folding wall-mounted workout rig. When it’s down, it’s perfect for lifting or resistance work. When it’s folded up? The room instantly opens back up. The best part – it’s SO easy to fold up and down (aka I don’t need my husband’s help, lol).
Pro Tip: If the rig doesn’t end up being mounted on studs in your wall, secure its sturdiness with 2×4 wooden mounting supports like you see in the pics.


Now to fill it with all the things! I love fitness classes and knew I’d miss being part of a class with a home gym.
My friends have a Peloton bike and love it, so we decided to try it, and I’ve loved it SO much! It’s like having access to a boutique fitness class anytime I want – AND I get to pick the vibe and music. She fits right in our corner and is a fantastic addition.

I wanted the space to be clean, calm, and motivating – with zero clutter.
Everything has its place, and that honestly makes it easier to show up and actually use the space!






This gym has truly become one of our favorite spaces in the house! It’s convenient, comfortable, and totally customized to our routines. And the best part?
