Girls Bedroom Makeover: Creating Her Dream Bedroom

As a mom, so many of my dreams revolve around making my kiddos’ childhoods magical. I want to create spaces they’ll remember, and that can grow with them. We LOVED Tulip’s bedroom at our previous home, but creating her new space has been SO much fun. One of the best parts? We used wallpaper from my new Signature Wallpaper Line with Wall Blush! It’s Peel-and-Stick, but don’t let that intimidate you – it’s absolutely not as hard as it seems 😉. Come with me as we transform her completely bare/white room into a colorful dream of a bedroom that will grow with her!

The stars of this bedroom makeover show are two of my favorite prints from the collection. One is Campbell Graffiti Gal (left), and the other is Simply Gingham Large in Purple (right). The second Tulip saw Graffiti Gal, she was in LOVE! These prints fit her little spunky personality SO well, and we’re just obsessed with how well it all came together. Keep reading to see how we did it!
I tackled the first wall with that life-of-the-party Campbell Graffiti Gal wallpaper, with the help of our beloved house horse, Jewel, of course. One wallpapering tip I always share: go above the top of your wall when you’re installing. It just gives you a little grace. You’ll be able to cut off the excess, don’t worry. This will be the wall her bed goes on…I knew I wanted the brightest and most colorful wall to be a true accent wall. You can’t get much brighter than this 😊.
The other three walls got another pop of color with the Simply Gingham Larch in Purple, and I’m just so in love with how it turned out. Is it the most extra? Am I at all sorry? Not in the least 😉 When I paired them together, it was love at first sight. They just match Tulip’s personality so perfectly, and the transformation is just so good!

After the walls were complete, it was time to put the room back together. She still loves her big-girl bed, so we kept it along with our favorite bedding from Beddy’s, which makes it SO easy for kiddos to make their beds. Inside, there’s a minky blanket, it zips right up, and it’s perfect for a bunk bed or a daybed! Her circular wooden name sign is a gift from when she was born, so of course, we’re adding that back in, and her nightstand is a perfect addition to the room as well. All of our stuffed animal friends (or stuffies as we lovingly call them) and our name blanket came along for the fun as well. (PS Use code SIMPLYKATIE to save on Beddy’s!)

Her Princess dress-up closet and vanity station are two of her favorite things from her bedroom at her previous house. We knew they were coming to her new bedroom! These two little spaces let her be perfectly girly, spunky, and imaginative. I love watching her play, dream, and create here. Will they stay forever? Probably not. Will we hold on to them as long as we can? You betcha. (shop the faux sheepskin rug)
I knew I wanted to add a bit more fun and personality to the room. There’s no better way to do that than with a super easy gallery wall. I got to use my trusty automatic level. It turns green when things are level, which is a game-changer. These prints I found on Etsy are SO CUTE. This little table and bench set is the perfect size for her, and we’ve spent hours drawing and creating here already. Obsessed doesn’t cover it.

She’s obsessed – I’m obsessed – we’re all obsessed! It makes it all the more special that the wallpaper is from my new signature line with Wall Blush, I have to admit. But, what I love most is that this space will grow with her. It didn’t all come together overnight, but we pieced it together in phases, and it all came together beautifully! Check out my entire Signature Collection at Wallblush.com and be sure to head to my Amazon Storefront to shop Tulip’s entire bedroom and more!
Thank you, always, for being here! Love yall bigger than Texas!
XOXO, Katie
