Valentine’s Day Gift Baskets

One of my favorite things to do for the kids is to make a small goodie basket for each holiday. Something simple, not expensive, and it gets them excited! I love seeing their faces when they find the basket with their name and what fun things are inside.

3 Tips for creating a gift basket for your kids or a teacher

  1. Find a container or basket that can be re-used! Think about toy or book storage, bow storage, and any other organizational ways to re-use the basket. The heart basket we used for Rockers teacher this year would make a great bow basket for a little girls room. I like to find baskets in the dollar spot at Target or the Dollar Tree.
  2. Fill the basket with holiday themed items that you would probably already purchase, this is the keep it simple task. Think t-shirts that they could wear for school, pajamas, socks, a holiday themed book, or even a craft project.
  3. Candy… I typically add one or two candy items to the basket. For so many reasons that I’m sure you can imagine. For a teacher, I would add a $5 gift card to Starbucks or Target.

This doesn’t have to be expensive! Make it fun and creative and think about items you would probably already buy for your kids and stick them all in a basket.

If you are making a basket for a teacher, have your kids write handwritten notes! When I was a teacher I loved getting handwritten notes!
