5 Favorites at Magic Kingdom

Every time we’ve gone to Disney World, our first day is spent at Magic Kingdom. It’s become our tradition and an ultimate must-do is to take that initial trip picture.. you know it … in front of Cinderella’s Castle! Here are our 5 favorites at Magic Kingdom, and remember we have 3 kids under 7 years old.

  1. The “sit and ride” rides:
Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, The Little Mermaid… to name a few. These are rides you get on and just move through the space. They’re great for a break from outside and give you a magical experience.
  2. A Cinnamon Roll you can’t miss:
Gaston’s Tavern Cinnamon Rolls are a menu must! These cinnamon rolls are giant, ooey, gooey, and delicious. They are large enough to split so everyone in the family gets a bite!
  3. Experience more than just a ride:
Dumbo The Flying Elephant Ride is always a must for my crew. This ride is located in Fantasyland and available for kids of all heights. There are two reasons why we love this ride. First, we love finding the peanuts and elephant tracks hidden in the cement surrounding the ride. Second, once you are inside the line you can take a break at their indoor playground and wait to be called when it’s your turn to get on the ride itself.
  4. Fireworks!
The firework show is incredible. Grab a towel or waterproof blanket and watch the show as it’s a firework show you’ll never forget and absolutely love. One time we watched it from the Crystal Palace patio for dinner, it was insane!

5. Main street shops:
This is one we learned the hard way (I guess) but at the end of almost every single ride at Disney there is a gift shop filled with that ride’s theme items. Main street shops typically stay open late after the park closes, so don’t get caught up in the ride shops unless it’s one you’re just really passionate about. This past year every time we saw pins (you know metal, sharp point, clip on things.. pins) my kids were sucked in like a bug to a light! Collecting pins is a huge in Disney! You can trade pins and buy pins ALL over ALL of the parks!

It’s so hard not to just list ALL of our favorite rides and things to eat, but then my list would be 129 items long and who wants to read that?!

Eat the treats, ride the rides, take the pictures!
