3 DIY Christmas Ornament Ideas

3 DIY Christmas Ornament Ideas

Idea 1: Hand Print
Supplies List:
Oval Plastic Ornament (M&M shaped)
White Acrylic Paint
Sponge Paint Brushes
Small Bells and/or Pom Poms
Mod Podge (seals the paint)
Ribbon

Measure your kiddos hand on the ornament before you do anything! We start by cleaning the ornament with a cloth. Next you’ll paint your kids hand with white acrylic paint using a sponge paint brush. With your kids fingers spread place their hand on the flat side of the oval ornament. Make sure all of their fingers are touching the plastic. Then slowly move their hand away!

Once they ornament is dry we mod podge it to seal the paint. Then the kids can add bells, pompoms, confetti.. whatever they choose inside the ornament!

Use vinyl or letter stickers to add each kids name and year to the opposite side of the ornament. Tie a ribbon bow on top and your done!

Idea 2: Ribbon Height
Supplies List:
Round Plastic Ornament
Ribbon
Scissors
Small Bells and/or Pom Poms
Tag (to explain the ribbon!)

Start by measuring the height of your kiddo using the ribbon. Cut the ribbon to match the height. Let your kid stuff the plastic ornament with the ribbon and add in bells, poms, or confetti. Finish by printing the tag and stringing it onto a ribbon or yarn. Add the tag and the ribbon on top of the ornament. Done!

Idea 3: Pom Pom Ornament
Supplies List:
Round Plastic Ornament
Ribbon
Small Bells and/or Pom Poms

This one is the easiest and I saw it being sold at a retail store for way more than you can make it for. If you’ve made the other two ornaments you already have all the supplies.

Using a plastic ornament add pom poms inside the ornament. Done! I told you this one was extra easy. My 1 year old loved filling ornaments with pom poms.

I can’t wait to see all the ornaments y’all make! You’ll find videos and more ornament ideas on my pinterest or instagram. Follow along for all the DIY FUN!
